More than four thousand running enthusiasts from across Luzon united in support of various advocacies last May 16 for ABS-CBN Regional's project One Kapamilya Run (OKR), which was held simultaneously in seven different cities.
Now on its second year, OKR attracted runners from the cities of Dagupan (Pangasinan), Baguio (Benguet), San Fernando (Pampanga), Santiago (Isabela), Laoag (Ilocos Norte), Lipa (Batangas) and Puerto Princesa (Palawan) to address pressing concerns in the communities such as environment, health and education.
ABS-CBN stations in Pampanga, Laoag, Isabela and Dagupan are one in their thrust to support the environmental projects of DENR. ABS-CBN Dagupan in particular is committed to continue its series of efforts to help rehabilitate Pangasinan’s Sinocalan River.
ABS-CBN Batangas and Palawan, on the other hand, plan to help deserving public elementary schools acquire e-learning materials, while ABS-CBN Baguio intends for the proceeds to help the patients of the Helping Hands Healing Hearts recovery unit.
ABS-CBN Regional, under the leadership of head Atty. Abigail Querubin-Aquino and Luzon Cluster OIC Gemma Q. Cacas, affirms the commitment for the regional stations to serve as propellers of relevant community initiatives that have direct and long-term impact.
One Kapamilya Run is an annual project that does not only promote health and wellness among the runners but also pushes for social responsibility, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among all stakeholders. (Runner Rocky)
