Welcoming the 2018 Chinese New Year Running in #diverCHIty via the CNY Run

It is always our tradition every Chinese New Year that yours truly Runner Rocky takes part in the Chinese-inspired running event, the Chinese New Year Run or the CNY Run. Yes, this will gonna be our third time to join this race which also marks the third edition of the race. And this third edition is more exciting than the previous!  

This year, the CNY Run's theme is called DiverCHIty. Yes, this is taken from the word “diversity” which means an instance of being composed of differing elements or qualities. 

Today, there are a lot of talks and movement revolving around diversity. AffiniTea Race and Chinoy TV, the organizers of the race want to share their own version of diversity – #diverCHIty or in its expanded form stands for:

D – Different

I – Individuals 

V – Valuing

E - Each Other

R – Regardless of

C – Culture

H – Heart

I – Intellect

T – Traditions

Y - Youthfulness

  

Therefore the race is now dubbed as the CNY #diverCHIty Run 2018 which will take place this February 17, 2018 at the SM by the Bay. Details are as follow:

Once more, the singlet is made of hi-quality materials depicting the Chinese culture. Below is the actual singlet: 

The race has three categories namely the 3K, 5K, and 10K distances respectively. All the finishers of these three categories will receive a finisher medal and loot bag. But for the 10K distance, runners will take home Tikoy.

Aside from the actual run, there are also fun side events to enjoy for us to learn and understand the Chinese culture and heritage. We can watch the Lion and Dragon dance show before and after the race.
