UP Fighting Maroons x Robina Group of Companies: The Newest Tandem To Beat!

Leading basketball team, the UP Fighting Maroons is not only dominating the basketball court, they were also conquering the world of retail and endorsement!  

Just recently, the team sealed partnership with the Robina Group of Companies.

On July 25, 2019 at the UP Diliman's Executive House,  the UAAP's well-loved basketball group and the largest retail company, the Robinsons Retail Group formalized their partnership via signing of their agreement contract.  

Present during the event are the persons behind the Robina Group of Companies or the Robinsons Retail Group namely the following:

• Robina Gokongwei-Pe, Robinsons Retail President and CEO
• Willy Co, Handyman Vice Chairman
• Jody Gadia, Robinsons Supermarket Managing Director
• Stanley Co, Handyman Group General Manager
• Katherine Yu, Daiso General Manager
• Agnes Rafinan, The Generics Pharmacy General Manager
• Vincent Henry Go, Robina Farms Group Business Unit Manager

And of course from the UP Men's basketball team are the UP Fighting Maroons including the team's heartthrob superstars Kobe Paras and Ricci Rivero led by their team coach Bo Perasol.

We even got a short interview with the UP Fighting Maroons' one of the heartthrobs Kobe Paras. During his interview, he revealed his training for the next UAAP season, his career plan, things to improve about himself, and newest endorserments.

The Robina Group of Companies is supporting the UP Fighting Maroons basketball team for a long. I believe it was since 2010. The company's lead, Robina Gokongwei admitted that she is a big fan of the UP Fighting Maroons!

On a side note, Gokongwei said she chose UP MBT as a beneficiary because when she was enrolled at UPD as a BS Economics major, “I was a “bangko” (bench warmer) varsity swimmer. Jody Gadia [and] Wilfred Co [also] went to school here. We love this school and we just want to give back,” she said. Gokongwei attended UPD for three years until 1981.

Gokongwei also expressed high hopes for the Fighting Maroons, in light of UP hosting the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 78. “I’m sure we’re gonna have a great team,” she conveyed.
