“Intense at Its Finest!” 🔪🔪🔪🩸
Oh yes, this the first thing that will come on your mind after watching this 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival movie entry "Uninvited!" Your heart will definitely beat so fast even after you exit the cinema because of the thriller and the intensity to the highest level this movie brought us! As I initially described on my social media posts, "bawat eksena meron siyang kaba at takot na iniiwan sa mga viewers dahil hindi mo aakalain ‘ung gagawin ng mga characters sa bawat eksena! Lahat sila may kanya-kanyang agenda at ganap na ikakagulat mo!"
On Monday night of December 23, 2024, yours truly Runner Rocky got invited to attend, watch, and cover the Golden Carpet World Premiere Night of "Uninvited" held at Cinemas 3 and 4 of SM Megamall. Yes, if I'm not mistaken, this is the very first time that a golden carpet took place in a Philippine movie premiere since before we used to have a red, blue, purple, or black carpets respectively! And just like what they did in the Grand Media Conference of the movie last November in Solaire North, Mentorque didn't failed us to give a classy, prestige, and one of a kind event! Thus I've dubbed this movie as the 'most expensive' entry to the MMFF 2024 because not only in the movie itself, the events just like the media conference and the premiere night were so expensive too giving us very prestige and cozy setups. They were well-organized too!
Now back in my movie review, "Uninvited" truly gives us a Hollywood vibes - ang sosyal at ang classy ng pagkakagawa ng buong pelikula! Talagang pinanindigan nito ang pagiging expensive of 'mamahalin' niya! The movie throws a party for the richest, most elite, and most powerful people in the society!
Knowing that this movie is also under Warner Bros. just like the last year's MMFF entry "Mallari," the cinematography is also state of the arts giving a cozy feels! Just like what I've said, pang-Hollywood ang level niya!
In terms of acting and casting, no doubt that Vilma Santos, Aga Muhlach, and Nadine Lustre gave us a very satisfying and exceed-expectation level of acting! Take note that this is their first time to play such kind of roles - sobrang kakaibang Vilma, Nadine, at Aga ang nakita natin sa movie na'to! Ibang iba sa mga previous roles na ginampanan nila!
The Star for All Season Ms. Vilma Santos is very intense in this movie! Her fight scenes are thriller on the highest level! "Grabe ang palakpakan ng audience every time na may mga kalabang namamatay!! Ramdam na ramdam mo ‘ung gigil at galit sa puso ng isang Eva Candelaria! Astig!" Oh well, here is a proof video of Ate Vi's highest intensity scene in the movie where audience's emotions were captivated to the highest degree:
This is also my first time to see President Nadine Lustre playing shady o dark character! Before, we love her playing protagonist and kind roles. But in this movie, we will love her more playing Nicole Vega, a b*tch rich brat girl! Bagay din pala kay Nadine maging kontrabida! "Uninvited" brings out the best other side of Nadine in terms of acting out from her comfort zone! "Hindi siya nagpalamon sa actingan kina Ate Vi at Aga specially sa confrontation scenes nilang tatlo! Ang galing!!!"
Of course Aga Muhlach is Aga Muhlach in terms of acting! He didn't need to do extra effort or shout out loud to make him look like a bad guy. His simple gestures were very effective presenting him as a rich, influential, and powerful 'bad guy' in the movie! He's so perfect for the role of a greedy Guilly Vega!
The other cast members in the movie like Mylene Dizon, Lotlot De Leon, Tirso Cruz III, Gio Alvarez, Ketchup Eusebio, Ron Angeles, RK Bagatsing, Gabby Padilla, and Elijah Canlas also played their roles very well! Pang-gigigilan mo talaga ang mga eksena nila!
The movie is not all about revenge, it also tackles family values and the unconditional love of mother to her child - that a loving mother can do everything for the sake of her child!
The fireworks scene in the movie is also very satisfying! The fireworks in that particular scene symbolize triumph, success, and achievement the lead character achieved in the movie!
But wait there's more! If you think the movie already ended, please stay to your seat as there is a middle credit scene that will make you think! Haha, dadagdag pa talaga yan sa iisipin mo paglabas mo ng movie house!
Meanwhile during the golden carpet premiere night of "Uninvited," high-profiled personalities and celebrities were present in the event to support the movie. Some of them were Sen. Ralph Recto, the Muhlach Family - Charlene Gonzales and the twins Andres and Atasha Muhlach, Luis Mazano, Jessy Mendiola, Tessa Valdez-Prieto, Fifth Solomon, Paulo Angeles, Martin Del Rosario, The House of Mentorque Boys, Queen Dura, JC Alcantara, Kate Yalung, Kim Perez, Dolly De Leon, and Gov. Chavit Singson who were all spotted and present during the event.
Under the direction of Dan Villegas and from a story and screenplay written by Dodo Dayao, "Uninvited" is an official entry to the 50th Edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) showing on cinemas starting this Christmas Day, December 25. It is co-produced by Mentorque Productions, Project 8, and Warner Bros. Philippines.
